Marcus Weber

Lead Financial Analyst & Co-Founder

Fundamental Analysis Market Research Risk Assessment Portfolio Strategy

Marcus started his career in 2018 at a Prague-based investment firm, where he quickly discovered that traditional financial education often missed the practical nuances that make or break investment decisions. After spending five years analyzing Central European markets and helping institutional clients navigate volatile periods, he realized there was a massive gap between academic financial theory and what actually works in practice.

What really drives Marcus is the moment when a complex financial concept suddenly clicks for someone. He's developed a teaching approach that starts with real company examples from the Czech and European markets, then builds up to broader analytical frameworks. His specialty lies in breaking down financial statements to reveal the story they're really telling – something he learned after reviewing thousands of quarterly reports and seeing patterns that textbooks rarely mention.

Beyond the numbers, Marcus brings a deep understanding of how market psychology affects valuation models. He's witnessed firsthand how even the most solid fundamental analysis can be temporarily overwhelmed by market sentiment, and he teaches students how to use these disconnects as opportunities rather than obstacles.

Anna Kratochvílová

Senior Market Researcher

Sector Analysis Economic Indicators Industry Trends Data Visualization

Anna joined VorlBicks in early 2024 after spending six years as a research analyst covering technology and healthcare sectors for a leading Czech brokerage. Her background in economics from Charles University, combined with her natural curiosity about how industries evolve, makes her particularly skilled at identifying long-term investment themes before they become obvious to the broader market.

What sets Anna apart is her ability to synthesize massive amounts of industry data into clear, actionable insights. She's developed a systematic approach to sector rotation analysis that helps students understand not just which sectors might outperform, but why certain economic cycles favor different types of businesses. Her research has consistently identified emerging trends in the European market, from the early stages of the digital transformation wave to recent developments in sustainable energy.

Anna's teaching philosophy centers on helping students develop their own research frameworks rather than simply following someone else's recommendations. She believes that understanding the "why" behind market movements is far more valuable than memorizing specific analytical ratios, and her courses reflect this approach through hands-on projects using real market data.

Pavel Müller

Education Director & Course Designer

Curriculum Development Financial Modeling Case Studies Student Mentoring

Pavel brings a unique perspective to VorlBicks as someone who has worked on both sides of financial education – first as a corporate finance manager for a multinational company based in Brno, then as a freelance financial consultant helping small businesses understand their own financial statements. This dual experience gives him insight into what financial concepts actually matter in practice versus what sounds impressive in theory.

His approach to course design is heavily influenced by his belief that financial analysis should be taught through real-world problem solving. Pavel has developed a library of case studies based on actual Czech and European companies, anonymized but retaining all the messy complexity that students will encounter in their own analysis work. These cases include everything from obvious red flags that should stop an investment cold, to subtle indicators that might suggest a company is positioned for unexpected growth.

What students particularly appreciate about Pavel is his ability to explain complex financial concepts without dumbing them down. He has a talent for finding the right analogies and examples that make abstract ideas concrete, whether he's explaining how to interpret cash flow statements or why certain valuation multiples work better for different types of businesses. His goal is always to build genuine understanding rather than just teaching students to follow formulas.

What Drives Our Approach

These aren't just corporate values we put on our website – they're the principles that guide how we develop content, interact with students, and approach financial education.

Practical Over Theoretical

We focus on analytical techniques that actually work in real market conditions, not just academic models that look good on paper. Every concept we teach has been tested through actual investment decisions and market cycles.

Transparency in Everything

We share our reasoning, show our work, and explain when our analysis was wrong. Students learn just as much from understanding why certain approaches fail as they do from successful case studies.

Long-term Thinking

Our goal is to help students develop analytical frameworks they'll use throughout their investment careers, not just hot tips for the current market environment. We teach principles that remain relevant across different economic cycles.

Why We Built VorlBicks

The financial education industry has a problem. Most courses either oversimplify complex topics to the point where they're not useful, or they get so caught up in academic theory that students can't apply what they've learned to actual investment decisions. We started VorlBicks because we wanted to create something different – a learning experience that respects both the complexity of financial analysis and the practical needs of real investors.

"Every successful investor I know has gone through the same process: they started with basic concepts, made mistakes with real money, learned from those mistakes, and gradually developed their own analytical approach. We can't eliminate the learning curve, but we can make sure students are learning the right things from the beginning."

— Marcus Weber, Co-Founder

Our approach is built around the idea that financial analysis is as much about asking the right questions as it is about calculating the right numbers. We teach students to think like analysts, not just to memorize analytical techniques. This means understanding when certain valuation methods work and when they don't, recognizing the limitations of financial data, and developing the judgment to distinguish between meaningful patterns and statistical noise.

Based here in the Czech Republic, we have a unique perspective on European markets that often gets overlooked by US-focused financial education. We understand the regulatory environment, the business culture, and the specific opportunities and challenges that come with investing in Central and Eastern European companies. But our analytical frameworks work just as well for global markets – we simply use local examples because they're what we know best.
